Wondering if anyone can shed some light on this

My CPU is recognised in my BIOS (striker II Formula) as running at 3.33 with a multiplier of 10x which is fine. As soon as i start the nvidia control panel is says the CPU multiplier is only on 6x?

anyone help on this one? not used to nvidia control panel much before ....

Thanks for the quick reply. Never heard of the speedstep before?
I will try run a game and alt tab and check the multipler then and see if it is on 10x
Just need to wait for my gfx card to return from rma now .....

Will disabling speedstep make a difference in performence on normal apps etc? or is it best to leave it on?

Also hate to double post but does a 3dmark06 score (with stocks no OC) of 15000+ sound about right for the build in my sig?

Ive never OC before so i would know where to begin. Maybe one day when i feel brave enough ill give it ago lol.

Also one quick question which is not CPU related. My motherboard (striker 2 formula) has a mini pci supremefx audio card with a connection to connect front panel audio. Should i connect the ac97 audio cables to the card for front panel audio in my antec 900 or the hd audio cable? the reason i ask is because when i game i get interference only through front panel audio on my headset when i use the HD one. Yet if i connect at the back panel direct into the sound card i get no issues. would changing to the ac97 eliminate this?

Thanks for the help my memory frequency is set to 1066 i wil try what you suggested with the frequency when i get some of my parts back from rma. Is it safe to do this on air? im only using the stock cooler to i might have to upgrade that to keep it running cool enough.
