I've got an Intel RES2SV240, all plumbed into an LSI 9265 and seemingly happy, but it's not negotiating SATA drives at 6gbps, just 3gbps. Does anyone know if it needs 2/8 incoming ports connected rather than 1/4 to get those speeds? I was under the impression it only needed one, and as it was part of the point in getting this over the HP one I'd like it working properly. I've tried the Intel site but their documentation isn't very complete in this regard. Anyone else seen this?

Best suggestion is to try it with the extra incoming ports and see. I can't really help beyond that even though I also have a RS2SV240. Mine is connected to an LSI 8888ELP which is limited to 3GB/s anyway, but I connected it up using both internal connections to be on the safe side.

From what i did read though, compatibility can be a bit hit and miss using non intel raid cards even though they are just re-branded LSI. Mine completely gave up working after i did a firmware update on the raid controller so i had to roll back the firmware to get it to even show that there were disks hanging off the expander. Far as i can tell, a RS25DB080 controller is a 9265 anyway so it should be more compatible than mine.
