Intel Extreme Graphics actually plays games

Well, at a modest framerate and LOD...and I'm using single channel memory so it'd be somewhat faster if I had additional bandwidth

Yeah, I was quite surprised running Train Simulator on a IGP Dx7 SiS chip that the 1.4GHz CPU was what was bottlenecking it!

I got UT2004 running on my Intel onboard GMA 945 laptop!

I play wow on a laptop with x3100 on board gfx.

Runs pretty well at full res (1280x800) on low detail.

Yeah, they've improved somewhat with the 900 and 3-series IGPs, should look better than what I have there, and run smoother

This is the "Extreme Graphics 2" chip aka 865G that I'm using, rather than the newer GMA series.

Now that's extreme.

Ha, I managed to keep 32-bit colour and medium texture settings, but the fancy effects like lens flare had to go.

Yeah UT2004 runs fine on my X3100 with pretty much everything on high 1280x800

UT2004 is scary. Ive had it on Holy **** settings on a mobo intergrated GeForce 4 at 1280x1024

Yeah, no shaders for the GF4 MX, and its a highly optimised engine

Hmm, could well be given I have a 3Ghz Pentium 4..but since I play with bots I'd rather free up the CPU to do that.
