I was at a friends house the other day and he was showing me is pc. He loaded up a dvd and played in vlc player, and omg... I was like "is that in hd?" the picture was awesome! Turns out, it was the onboard intel graphics chip that was enhancing the picture! This chip upscales the picture better than my nvidia 8800 gts.

I was totally gutted, as I love watching movies on my pc, and my picture was no where near as good as his.

Money doesn't buy everything.

You can upscale DVD's well in Media Player Classic and change the picture quite a lot, I doubt his GMA was helping, I reckon it was all by software.

I've upscaled dvd's on media player classic, and on zoom player, this is something else. It's hard to describe, but it definitely had a superior playback to mine.
