intel going bust

Given that most computers are powered by Intel in some way or another, I very much doubt they could go bust so easily. Their market share is massive.

Both AMD and Intel will stay right where they are, AMD are doing much better than they have been doing for a long time and the arab investment is huge - and Intel has a lot more capital than could be removed by losing a billion dollars.

As already said, Intel are here to stay. They have a huge market share and are doing well at the moment. I'm not quite so sure about AMD, but they should be ok for a while yet, especially after their aquisition of ATI, speaking of which, was ATI in trouble before AMD bought them?

amd have a bigger share than most people think. dont forget they now own ati aswell.

they made the best cpu's for ages its only recently intel overtook amd (2 years) but maybe we will see a change come the new year. atleast when amd cpu's are the best they dont charge a grand for em

the only thing that would make Intel go bust , is if like all pc component manufactures,
would be to care for us guys buying the stuff. not much difference between the way the work and the oil companies,

massive profit = little effort.

oh oh oh, but we need to invest our profits for research and development for the fututre ...blah blah blah.

Ati wont go bust either. Anti competition and anti monopoly stuff wouldn't allow it.

And Arab MD is better than having Chinas chips rule the world which is what could happen. The Chinese are slowly catching up!

Everyone gets in a little debt now and then...AMD has plenty of assets and won't disappear for a while, plenty of investors interested, especially Arabs businessmen looking to ditch oil.

Having said that I love the people who wilfully ignore benchmarks and go the AMD route because they have some charitable type ideology and think that it's a conspiracy against AMD or because they first had cybersex using a AMD cpu.

A better ideology might be capitalism, why suffer because AMD are suffering? Maybe I'm just not the charitable type. I'll be the first to buy AMD if/when their processors start humping those Intels though.
