intel graphics do i keep them?

ok i asked this in a thread earler but i didnt get a straight answer...
ok well my friends has just recently bought a 'XFX GeForce FX 5200 256MB' (pci) from no graphics card...just the mobo's built in intel graphics. he plugged it in but it did not work right, but does he have to uninstall his intel built in graphics? or are they part of the mobo?

He has to go into the bios and disable the intel poo graphics.

What i wanna know is why did he buy a 5200

Dont knock the 5200.. its great for BF1942

But seriously, its a major step up from on-board graphics. Oh and look in the bios.
