hiya everyone

so after many years good service my old P4 desktop needs to be retired. It's a shame as it still runs ok after about 8 years and minus a HDD and south bridge cooler issue there's not been any big hiccups.
It don't really do any gaming but need something for editing HD footage a few times a year (holiday vids), photo editing, media streaming and all the usual web surfing/MS Office bits. Would like to be able to upgrade a bit in the future but I'm not looking to overclock the nuts off of anything.

Have sort of settled on the Intel H61 Sandybridge 10000i system available in the configurator but with a few upgrades on the standard model:

Upgraded the processor for something a little beefier
Added a GPU and upgraded the MB
Upgraded the standard HDD for an SSD as I've got three HDDs already.

Intel Core i3-2120 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
Gigabyte H61M-S2PV Intel H61 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
MSI HD 5450 1024MB GDDR5 Low Profile PCI-Express Graphics Card
Intel 330 Series 60GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State

Patriot Intel Extreme Masters 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
BitFenix Shinobi USB3.0 Gaming Case - Black
Samsung S24B300BS 24" Widescreen LED Monitor - Glossy Black

Comes in at around £675 with windows which seems like a good deal but I'm just a bit worried about the HD editing.
Would it be worth upgrading to an i5 considering that it's likely to cost me an extra £100. The CPU benchmark puts the i3 2120 a fair amount lower than the i5 2500 but is slightly better value for money.

thanks for any advice
Dan

Thanks for the replies.

Idleman that set-up looks good.
Would probably swap the ram back to the slightly cheaper version I had originally unless there's a reason not to (I couldn't see any real difference in the spec) and wait for the Antec One case to come in stock as it also saves a few pennies.

Just got to wait for pay day next week

Only added that ram as it would allow you to fit an air cooler, if the stock fan is to noisy.
Best thing to do is post back when you are ready to buy. Prices and offers vary week to week, so the above spec could be cheaper or dearer
