so at the moment am using build in graphics because my main GPU was faulty..

for some reason i cannot seem to play any game on it.. most of em just crash for example BF3 crashed as soon as i click on Video settings tab.

DayZ i get 15 FPS even on Low settings

i can play Portal around 25FPS

i did some video research and quite a few people use this build in gpu and play the games properly

is there any reason i would be having this issue? do i need to change anyhting?

Z77 Sabertooth
i7 3770k @ 4.2
16GB RAM
750W PSU
650D

Not sure about the crashing issue...but I would check the graphic driver?

For the HD4000, you gonna have to look at running games at 1280 ~ 1366 res with AA disable if you want games to be playable. You can overclock the HD4000 as well, but it doesn't help to much I think.

Well, I am using Intel HD 400 at the moment as well, because I'm a little short on cash :)
The thing with this card is, you can watch HD movies with it and even play some games (on low settings, no AA etc) but don't expect to much of it.
I am playing mostly older games or ones with lower minimal requirements.
I dont think BF3 has low minimar req's :)

My system is only a little bit weaker than yours:
ASRock Z77
i5 3470 at 4.0 Ghz
16 GB 1600 Mhz ram
600W PSU

Its onboard GPU, so I wouldn't expect to much of it.
I know what I am going to buy pretty soon, when I get my salary next month :)

I guess that would be better for you as well.

i actually had GTX 670 on order but gonna cancel that and wait for nVidia's 700 series..

should have enough console games to keep me busy for some time.

Theres a thread posted by a ocuk member who done some benchmarking with the hd 4000 and it showed that although the hd4000 is rubbish at stock you can overclock it and perfprmance can double in some cases. The problem is you are relient on Intel drivers.

Not sure about yours, but I am in the same situation as you with HD-4000 and I can play portal on high smoothly and can play skyrim on low smoothly too??

I heard you can play BF3 on low with no AA at around 30-35 fps with HD4000 on an i5. If you are having issues it must be the drivers?
