I need some help.

Basically i am pricing up a new system.

Originaly I was going to get a asus ROG crosshair IV. and Phenom II X6 1100T

But after looking around a bit, I might actualy be perswaded to go to the dark side and get an intel.

On problem is I have hit a cross roads.

First system I have looked at would consist of an Asus ROG Maximus IV Extream board, with a i7 2600K chip.

But then last night I found anouther system.

A Asus ROG rampage III extream OR black edition and a i7 930.

Now im not sure if the black edition is worth 100 extra over the extream. especially as all i can realy tell is the Killer network card and head phone boost. none of whitch would realy change my life.

And also i know the 930 is a lower Ghz but I have heard that they will easily clock to 4.0 anyway.

But what is the best.

I am a gamer and that pretty much all my pc does. it just games.

So all im after is a setup that will give me a nice fast PC. that will play games for a few years. untill the next big step in computer hardware hits.

I would go with the 2600K. But if you're just gaming, then the 2500K is the one to go. Sandy bridge performs better per clock and can clock to around 4.6ghz, some even 5ghz if you're lucky enough.

I would never touch a gigabyte boared again. i loathe them I have seen their assin boared does look amazing, but the price is stupid. and i trust asus.

How come, I run various Gigabyte boards and never had a problem, using the X58 UD5 now and this has never missed a beat.

the only gigabyte board that i havent had any trouble with is the one in my 6 years olds pc, that seems to run fine. but the same cpu and graphix card worked a lot better in my asus boared. from my old computer.

I know they dont realy go wrong that oftene but they do seem to lack the performance of other baords. or maybe i have just been unlucky with them. but nether the less. I love ROG boards and their features. so im going for them.

so the general consesis is the 2500-2600k then.

their is definatly no need for for the ammount of ram i can put on the rampage. so that could be waisted money going for a 930 and a 1366 boared.
