I would like you guys to recommend me a some components at title states I want it to include an intel i5 I have windows 7 already and will be using it on my 42 inch screen so no monitor will be needed my budget is around the £500 mark. graphics card my friend is upgrading his and will be giving me his old gtx 460 so graphics is not needed either.

So just to cap

- budget is £500
- not monitor needed or windows
- needs to be overclockable

Thanks for help I really appreciate it

That looks a good deal I was also looking at the pre build systems on the site is there anything that matches those spec in that price range because if there is I might op for that but then again I do want to build my own but it finding the time sorry to mess you about but still in the early stage of deciding to buy a pre built or build my own so if you don't mind advising off a pre build one in that price range aswell

Cheers for the help

Personally if you could salvage your hard drive from your old computer for data i would put the money from the hard drive in the above spec to an SSD :)

Not with an i5 for under £600. :(

Unfortunately my old computer will be going to my mother so I carnt take anything from that. Wouldmyou say I would get a better desktop if I was to build my self than if I purchased one at the same price ?

No worries was just a thought, SSD's are really worth it. Maybe could be a future upgrade option for you when your wallet recovers. You can get a 120GB one for £100 ish and a 60GB one for £69 ish.

Seconded. :)

They are great. I love mine. You can get a Sandisk 120GB one for ~£80. Though for the M4's your looking about £95.

Well looks like I will build it my self do you have any videos you could post regarding how to put together the components never build one before but how hard can it be ;)

I will purchasing all my parts at the end of the month ( pay day ) but I just want to get a good idea of what I need as I like to plan advance lol

Will all the cable's I need come with all the parts or do I purchase them separately

How much of a diffrence do they make sorry for a dumb question do they just boot up windows quicker?

Yes, and other programs installed on it. It takes 30 seconds from pushing the on button to being able to open Chrome rather than about 2 minutes. Though with a new HDD it would be fast to start with anyway. And SSDs are silent. :)
