Intel i7 4770k Haswell - Usable? Sellable?

Hi folks. I have an old computer I built to use as a Hackintosh in 2014.
... I didn't upgrade the OS from Mavericks for ages, and it got to the point that it wouldn't accept the later versions of Mac OS.

The processor is an Intel i7 4770k, attached to a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H mobo.

One day it just stopped working, I think it was just the power unit that failed but I can't be certain.

Given its age, does this CPU still have a use with an OS, like an older Windows perhaps?

Thanks for reading

Officially Windows 10, but 11 can be made to accept it.
...
Thanks @ezekial and @Tetras ... I randomly walked into a computer shop the other day, and the guy in there didn't think Windows 11 would work on it, due to not being able to work with 4th gen processors... but I wanted to post here, because this guy came across very 'official' so I doubted he would promote (or possibly even know about) any guerilla workarounds if you know what I mean.

I recently retired an i5 2500k machine and although a little older I asked a similar question. It’s worth so little hardly worth selling so, I just put the machine in my loft until some later date when either it’s ‘retro’ and valuable or I get an itch to build a retro machine or I get fed up of hoarding it and it’ll be given away or recycled.

It was running a modern OS (NixOS) up until last month, very capable CPU but as it had eventually gone from being my ‘everything’ PC to just a gaming PC then it was starting to show its age. I use a MacBook for most general tasks now and built a newer gaming PC.

I also have a home server/NAS running a fourth gen i5 (IIRC) which could be another use case for yours, although you may be wanting a lower power chip for something that’s on the whole time. Not sure how well they scale down in power consumption.

Key thing is that 4770k/4790k are the top of the Haswell tree which means people want to upgrade to them. I've always found the top i7 for a specific generation retains value as people go for it either as a stop gap upgrade, or when building "new" used systems as the top CPU.

my pc up until december was 4770k and z87 iirc and yeah did me well
and the friend i donated it to will hopefully get another few years out of it
Snap, I've now donated it to a friend. He mentioned his current computer might die any minute, so I thought the i7 should have a new home. He is better at working with the insides of a PC than i am, and thinks he might even be able to resurrect the power unit, a Corsair RM650. If not, he will replace it with another one. He seemed chuffed to bits.
