Howdy,

Not sure if anyone has seen this, but I subscribe to a aussie fella called "maxishine" on YouTube, and he get sall the latest spec PC gear very early and does some pretty good vids with them. The guys rigs are pretty damn awesome, and I'm sure he has infinite money.

Anyway, he made a vid doing some comparisons with the i7 965 against the c2q qx6700 (he underclocked the i7 to 2.6GHz) and it shows that the i7 is pretty tasty, especially when it comes to video encoding)!

Check it out here:

Hold on, was that 50 vs. 70 average FPS in Crysis Warhead? Pretty big gains at the resolution he was using (1680x1050).

It is very fast, to have tri-sli though. /drool

Encoding seems to have a real boost from the new i7 chips.

Very impressive. One thing though, surely on the C2Q setup he has only 2 graphics cards? I thought X58 was the first board rev to support tri-sli? If so that could account for some of the fps difference in Crysis.

I've seen tri-sli in earlier motherboards. I just don't think it boosted performance much, something along those lines.

I've never done overclocking before but it looked damn easy on that board! Will deffo get this board come feb 09.
