Intel Identifies Chipset Design Error, Implementing Solution

Probably not a huge issue, but personally I'm steering clear of Sandy Bridge for a number of reasons.

Those being? Just seen another thread where RJKONeill alluded to cold boot issues, was going to skip SB myself but have been thinking about going for it lately, so want to make sure not making mistake, what reasons are you "steering clear"?

In some cases, the Serial-ATA (SATA) ports within the chipsets may degrade over time, potentially impacting the performance or functionality of SATA-linked devices such as hard disk drives and DVD-drives.

so current rev 1 mobo's that utilise the suspect chipset "could" get a bit flakey over time?.

glad i'm waiting for the next stepping on the cpu then.

Heard various rumbles of premature degredation of the CPU/chipset and motherboards without significant levels of extra voltage along with the boot failures just didn't fill me with confidence for the platform.
