Hi Guys,

In a bit of a jam, my intel mac mini (1.66ghz core duo) lost its audio device. I updated to 10.4.10 and there was the popping noises, which were reported all over the internet. A software update for the audio appeared (meant to fix the problem i guess), so i installed it, rebooted and now osx was showing now audio device! :S Even in system information it says no audio device.

I didnt want to do a reinstall, so i installed boot camp, put on windows xp and it does not detect any audio device either.

Anyone got any ideas? :S I'm a semi-noob when it comes to macs, is there anyway i can access the EFI/BIOS settings? Anyway I can force an EFI update (already on 1.1), might fix it I guess :S

Well guys, i fixed it :) Sometimes it's just the simplest things that are the issue. I have no idea why it happened in the first place, but i disconnected it from the power for 5mins, connected it up and heard the chime from the internal speaker :D Talk about a mystery, i love my mac, but sometimes, it feels like it runs on voodoo or something!
