hi all. well my FX-8350 has sadly passed away and im currently running a Phenom x6 1090t in my sabertooth board..
so I was thinking on going for a 9370 or 9590 cpu for the sabertooth.
but plans have been postponed as well be moving house and the new house needs decorated, carpets throughout, garden sorted and possibly more plans that the misses hasn't told me about yet....

so Im thinking.. do I just stick some spare cash by when I can and build up a nice wee stash up to go intel?

now this is a bit of a budget as having a disabled son that's in and out of hospital on a regular basis I cant afford to go daft..

so I would be wanting a board that will take my ddr3 corsair 1600mhz with usb3 and a cpu that will happily play games and be happy running of a corsair cx750m psu

current spec is..

Phenom ii x6 1090t
16gb ddr3 corsair vengence 1600mhz
Msi 7950 tf boost edition
corsair cx750m
Samsung ssd 128gb for system
2tb storage

so what board and CPU would you recommend?

Honestly because you bought a high spec CPU at the time there isn't much point in upgrading unless you go for something fairly high spec again, otherwise you will barely notice the difference. So the sensible highish spec, but on a budget CPU has got to be the i5 4690k, chuck it together with an affordable motherboard and you'll have a decent upgrade with some overclocking potential. Good if you're ever bored and looking for something to do whilst hiding from the misses, I mean... tidying the shed.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £173.99
1 x Gigabyte Z97P-D3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £61.99
Total : £245.58 (includes shipping : £8.00 Ex.VAT).
