What is it with the names, or at least code names of Intel/Nvidia/AMD products? As if Polaris/Pascal and Vega/Volta wasn't bad enough, to the point where I've accidently started referring to Vega as an Nvidia product by mistake, but I've also just realised Ryzen 7 is supposed to be AMD's equiv of Intel I7 range and Ryzen 5 will be the equiv of the i5 range?
Given the above I'm inclined to think the Vega range is not supposed to be AMD's answer to the top end Pascal but will instead be their hopeful match to Volta.
Wish they'd just keep the names unrelated .
Does it irritate anyone else or am I just having a grumpy moment? I'm assuming it's AMD trying to tie their names into those that the competition uses but might be wrong, either way, it's not necessary.
