Folks,

Probably been asked many times before but I'm still wondering what Motherboard to stick in my Antec ISK300-150. The only components I have bought so far are;

1. Antec ISK 300-150 for £24.99
2. Logitech Dinovo Mini for £49.99

I'm basically wondering whether to go combined motherboard and CPU or separate?

Any thoughts? Intel Vs AMD? I want to use as a HTPC Blu_Ray media player playing Blu-Ray ISO, MKV etc.

Somebody will be along shortly to answer your questions more fully no doubt, but from what I gather from looking into itx its all about horses for courses.

If your wanting gaming then theres a plethora of great itx motherboards for 1155 intel cpus, and some AMD boards. But intel seem to dominate.

But for HTPC use most people seem to use combined mobos with onboard graphics. If your just using it as a blu-ray box then theres really no reason to spend the extra on uber cpus and boards that can utilise GPUs that your not going to use.

Ok - thanks folks. Yep - will be only used to playback DVD/Blu-Ray ISOs through XBMC on Windows 7 64-bit OS, bit of web surfing etc

I have an ASRock E350 mobo in my Antec isk100, 4gb ram module, 250gb hd and it is really good. Use it primarily for xbmc and media playback whcih is nice and smooth. Also handles win 7 fine.

Yeah - think I may go for this board. No frills but seems to report nice and stable.

Kept away from the Gigabyte version of the fusion mobo, the cooler it utter crap. For me it idles around 55c (that because it's winter so that helps a lot plus i don't have the heating on in my room so it's quite cold) and can hit mid 70s under load, this is after i have done the best to drops the temps by lapping the cooler adding a 140m fan also putting a gfx card in there to drop the temps further, currently it's idling at 57c.

Yup - I got the ASRock E350 in the end, didn't bother with USB3 version because I don't have any USB3 devices. Didn't add DVD drive, installed Windows 7 64-bit to OCZ Vertex 3 60GB SataIII from USB stick. Added 8GB Kingston Hyper X blue 1333 DDR3 ram. Running nice currently, BIOS is on 1.20 and I think I'll leave it alone. 1.50 is out but won't bother for now.

Nice quality board, quiet fan on board and in my Antec ISK300-150. Time will tell.

Yeah - cheers I did hear about this so went AMD and it works perfectly. I have a slightly annoying display issue where part of the task bar is cut off but have created a post for this here - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18357678

Choosing "Just Scan" on my TV corrects it, but the next time I use the system it reverts to 16:9 again and I have to manually change it again.
