hi guys,
my main desktop rig at the mo is a 2600+ xp and i have recently acquired a p4 2.5
i know there are lots of factors here but generally which is more powerful - cpu-wise 1: for office apps etc and 2: (crucially) for games?
for games is there a lot of difference? or are they very similar. im talking here strictly in processing power regardless of graphics etc

im going to give one of the rigs to my sis in braintree but obviously i need the better one for me. :D

many thanks

I vote P4.

I have a P4 2.53 Ghz Northwood B and its a really good overclocker. I run it at 3.0Ghz easily, and it can easily handle the latest games when coupled 6800 GT. i.e FEAR runs at max settings at 1024 x 768 4x AA and 8x AF.
