After having motherboard troubles I've plumped a new DS3 motherboard into the system. Getting the AW8D RMA'd and then flogging it on (not conroe compatible and they have issues with Ipod's etc).

So currently I am running an 805 D and am mulling an upgrade to Conroe. Has anyone done this and what performance gains have you noticed?

The main thing I'll use the system for once it's back on-line is Virtual PC/Server etc. Also pending whether I stay with Vista x64 as I've got no driver issues with it. Windows XP I think would prob be better with Virtual PC/Server.

Mmmm v tempting. Even after a potential 805D clock.. I'm interested in these quad cores coming out, but can't see much taking advantage of them for the mo.

Currently running Arctic cooler pro 7 and some cosair XMS 5400 RAM

Just want to get it stable etc. Been a while since I've done overclocking etc. HP Servers more my thing these days :)
