Hello my first post on here can any one comment on the Intel Pentium D 920 Processor as im due to purchase this processor on tuesday with a new motherboard the ASUS P5N32-SLI DELUXE coupled with CORSAIR XMS2 DDR2 675MHz memory 4-4-4-12 and a XFX NVIDIA 7800GT OC 256MB.

Any comments or help would be greatfully recieved.

I got the baby bro, 805 in a server, just make sure you get a good cooler for it. The speed multi tasking is great, With the bigger brother it will be fantastic.

I'm getting Zalman 9500 on tuesday to see if that cools it better.

I've seen a lot of the benchmarks on tomshardware site but im not one for counting frames per seconds and nano seconds when all i want is just a good all round system both good in applications and games.

I've had AMD in the past and INTEL systems and seen very little difference appart from INTEL being quicker in applications and seen very little difference in gaming.

This is why ive gone for a balanced system good memory, motherboard, graphics card just wanted to know mainly about the processor see if anyone has got the same one so i can get some sort of an idea what im going to be buying on tuesday.

I've noticed a lot of anti-intel sites including tomshardware when ive visited other competitor websites intel has recieved different benchmark stats?

I think Intel and AMD have good processors as ive been with both familys but ive been pushed to the Intel sector.

If are running at stock the 920 is a decent processor, it's when you overclock that this CPU really shines. If the rest of your system are up to it then 4Ghz is achievable on decent air cooling. At these speeds it's an excellent CPU. :D

Do you think i will have any problems with this setup ive chosen do you think ill have any compatablity problems with the memory and the motherboard i have however checked to see if its compatable with the motherboard according to corsair it is.

Anything i should be aware off.

Should i post the specs im going to purchase.

It's the P5N32-SLi Deluxe motherboard what the problem with it and thats a ATI Crossfire motherboard will i have an issue with a nVidia 7800GT graphics card i had an issue once with a nForce 4 SLi motherboard from Gigabyte with a ATI card the X850XT from ASUS once.

What about this Asus P5WDG2-WS Extreme Intel 975X can you run run nVidia SLi on that or just ATI.

otherwise im better of with the P5N32-SLi Deluxe motherboard or not to bother with the SLi and go with the ABIT AW8-MAX Intel 955X motherboard and just use the single 7800GT.
