yo guys,
had a thread recently about a processor i got for cheap, well £20 it cost me, brand new in retail packaging an old Intel Pentium D Exetreme 3.46ghz, for my old system, which had an old P4 HT 650,
now ive installed it, with Arctic silver 5, and used the standard intel heatstink, and im gettin idle temps of about 55c, which iw asnt happy with, so i took the cpu out, and cleaned off the old ac5 on the cpu and heatsink, and reapplied it again, and im still gettin roughly the same idle temps,
ive left it for a week now, and it never goes below 50 @ idle, i used a small blob in the middle, and put my finger in a lil plastic bag, and spread it over evenly, then placed the heatsink on firmly and quickly without any movements,
are these temps about right for this processor? may get a AC freezer pro and shove it on it, see if it makes a diff
any light on this would be great
cheers simon
