Fortunately I did not click the buy button on the E6420 when I spotted a Q6600 for £350 - Looks like someone is testing the waters.

Hopefully this will be the mark that the quads will be going for in the near future.

Ouchy hurts very much to see it confirmed at 350 quid, just brought it for £530 about 3 weeks ago...

so goes on life ;)

Still cant see it at that price lol, what is the price of the E6600 on that site though ?

E6600 is on at crap price : £177inc
E6320 : £115inc

The Q6600 could be a goof up as I have bought an E6300 for 80inc in the past.

Should I just place an order ? I'm not actually a fan of the quads

Looks like Subliminal Aura ain't lying, it's out there lads. Took me a while to find it though.

...I'm sure OCUK aren't liking all this, I think we should leave it how it is...it's out there...just required a bit of thinking outside the conventional methods of searching! Please no emailing in trust either...ocuk do a good job here, and I don't think we should abuse this place. I'm not after a Q6600 anyway, so don't worry OCUK, but guys, just wait a couple of weeks, then everyones prices will be this low. Of course, if you find it yourself, hats off to you :p.

In total agreement with cobxx - I think ocuk know the facts already and tbh I'd prefer buying here - ... As I have stated earlier this thread is just an indication of prices in the near future.

If anything the etailer is out of stock of it anyway and so can just play the waiting game ie give us a tasty price now and make us wait for it - if not several weeks when the real market prices kick in anyway. I will be calling them tomorrow to push them to give me what I have paid for.

Nice to see OcUK on the ball and again it's looking like verifying the price range quoted...

£350 from an unreputable cheapo supplier
£375+ from someone who you can trust.

So to summarise : Q6600 for £350-£400inc.

The next question is whether you'd go for the Q6600 which is really a 2 x dual core hack and nothing more or splash out on Intels latest offering.

Nonetheless a quad core at that price is a blooming bargain.
