Intel price drop 21/22 July

No need for a new thread if I can get advice here (this one will die soon anyway).

Because of the price drop, I'm going to buy a q9550 next week and also buy an Asus P5Q Deluxe (read here that it is a good board).

I do intend to overclock. I bought a coolermaster cosmos s last week week when OC had them on special offer (anyone seen the size of these cases? you could pack all your stuff in them and go on holiday, they are so big ) )

I'm stuck on what memory to choose, I want 2x2gig sticks but its hard to pick what make is best. Any advice?

Also can anyone recommend a heatsink/fan for the cpu? I don't want to water cool.

This will be the third time I've built a rig for myself and so far it has worked out that they last three years before I need a new one to keep pace with things.

One more thing, is the mobo a good choice for what I'm doing?

The mobo is the perfect choice for the CPU.

For memory go for the OCZ 2x2gb PC2-8500 Platinum. The Q9550 will need a high FSB to overclock, so PC2-8500 is a wise idea.

Cooling wise, either a Tuniq Tower, or a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme & decent 120mm fan (tho the latter is very expensive at OcUK for some reason).

Is just what I am doing too Got the P5Q deluxe throught the post last night, ordering memory today and then the cpu when E0 comes around. Already got a Tuniq aching to be fitted. muhahahah, fun fun fun gl with your build

Same as me NickQ - thinking of getting a very cheap C2D for the meanwhile until they start turning up - will be matching it to a TRUE, P5Q Deluxe and some OCZ ram (probably some Reaper).

Got until end of month to order so fingers crossed
