Yep, I guess Intel are rubbing salt into AMD's wounds considering how much quicker these are than anything AMD have to offer and the fact its soooo cheap for such a quick CPU.

No, don't panic, Gibbo just doesn't want to sell no CPUs for 3/4 of July, so he's dropping the price gradually.

Correction!

The E6600 is NOT I repeat IS NOT dropping in price!!

The Q6600 as of 23rd July will drop to around £150+VAT region, give or take a few quid dependent on dollar rate. OcUK's current price on the Q6600 is one of the cheapest in the UK and it ships with Supreme Commander too.

On the new additions the QX6850, E6850, E6750 and E6550 we are at the new July 23rd pricing, they may drop a little further, say around £10-£20 on the higher-end stuff but again depend on dollar rate on the day.

They must be spitting at Intel for this public price drop announcement, but am sure when it hits the amount of orders will make up for it.

Is the E6750 one of the new 45nm chips? And would this be a better buy over the E6600 (i guess both will keep in price distance of each other)?

In all honesty it has little effect on our sales, upto now this month we have still sold 1100pcs of E6600 alone, fair enough that is not dropping in price but the E6750 is a better buy.

OcUK does things early to beat our competitors and get a nice spike in sales ready for price drop day. It also guarantees customers who place pre-orders to be first in the queue and as such getting a CPU to their door quicker.
