Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG + Ubuntu 7.10

Hi all. Has anyone got these two to work before? I have a Dell XPS M1530 with the above wireless but having such a horrible time trying to get this to work. It isn't detected under Networks (or whatever it is called in Ubuntu). I'm going to continue looking around on Google for any success stories people have had with his combination, as I haven't found one so far yet. So if anyone knows of one guide or set of instructions that works fine and has been confirmed by others, it would be great

The last comment leads me to think that they fixed this bug with a newer kernel. Have you run all the updates after installing? What version kernel are you running? Find out by opening a terminal window and typing uname -r

Working fine with kubuntu 7.10. I seem to remember that it needs a restricted driver but I thought this was on the cd and installed virtually automatically - I certainly don't remember doing anything special.

Have you searched the ubuntu forums?

Freebooter is right.
My brother's Dell laptop has this chipset and he says it's just one of the restricted drivers on Ubuntu.

yep, just one of the things that no longer works for me on 7.10 which I had working fine under 7.04. Would be interested to see if it is fixed. Installed ubuntu and kubuntu and it refuses to connect to my WPA WLAN, whereas it had no problem using 7.04
