After upgrading my main computer to Haswell, I’ve got the urge to upgrade my 2nd gaming PC on the cheap but I want to take the AMD CPU route.
It currently has an Intel Q6600 running at stock (as I don’t do overclocking), with 4GB ram and GeForce 470 GTX.

Looking at some of the AMD processors, what is the best thing to do, go for a 6 or 8 core AM3+ CPU or wait for FM2+ CPU's? As it looks like AM3+ could be a dead socket.

Thanks for the input everyone, looks like I be going for the 8320 and be selling off my old parts.

I have found a good Asus motherboard elsewhere for £55. So I'm going to pick up that.
