Intel Q8300

Just ordered new PC with this CPU in. Anybody have one? What do they think of it?

I'm currently using an Athlon 3500+ so hoping to see a nice increase!

Yeah will be nice you may be able to overclock it to 3ghz or more as well, depending on the rest of the kit.

Getting it with 4GB DDR3 Ram and a nice new 9800GT.

PC will mainly be used for Video Editing however will also be using it for Flight Sim.

I would have gone for the older Q6600 personally, only having 4mb cache compared to the Q6600's 8mb.

Don't they have a x7.5 mulit as well..

Heard they clock well mind, should be good for 3.6-3.8 ghz with decent cooling.

I'm not that fussed on overclocking it at the moment. Just need to get to grips with Vista first!

When did these come out? I thought that Q8200 was an odd one out for Intel. They're carrying on this line?

I don't see why they wouldn't, otherwise they'd have nothing to compete with the phenom IIs except older Q6000 series parts. Well, that and the rumoured Q7500 that they're supposed to be bringing out soon.
