i would like some advice ive just bought a q8400 and my motherboard is a p5kl-am with 2g kingston memeory. i was wondering is this chip good for overclocking with.

With a multi of 8 they're not the best. Hitting 3.2GHz should be a trivial matter if your RAM is 6400 or more though

the memory may not like any overclock without a jump in voltages, you may look to more/ different memory if the overclock goes well

1066Mhz or higher rated memory will be needed tbh. With good cooling and a mobo that hits high FSB 3.2-3.5ghz should be reachable, and worth the gain.

the hightest ive have overclock this cpu 2.8ghz with the memory i'm thinking off getting a new board that supports ddr3. my cooling system at the min is arctic cooling freezer 7 pro ver 2, so my system is very cool and very stable.
