I'm saying l2 doesn't do much in gaming unless you reduce resolution to something ridiculous like 1280x1024 or lower, just look for pastymuncher's comparison thread.
Also that review is stupid as the CPUs are all of either different frequencies or architectures, or both...so narrowing down cache effects is pretty much impossible under those test conditions.

I never did quite make the 5ghz and after several weeks I went back to playing games and enjoying myself.
I now have ocz blade memory so I might give it another go.
That's all done with watercooling btw, not LN, dice, ss etc.
4.6Ghz is my 24/7 under 1.4v prime95 stable setting though which will keep me going for a while until I have the urge to go i7.
Now I have my 5850 maxxed out with the Asus bios at 1110/1300 I have one hellish fast system
It's be pretty daft to go from a Q9650 to an i7, should definately wait for the i9.

Yep, looking back now i wish id have kept it a bit longer, but i got the old upgrade "itch" and went for an i7 setup. Looking to give sli a blast.1.200VID on a q9550 is pretty good, I'd say more than "middle of the road". Shame you didn't clock her more!
