But bear in mind the new Q9650's should be the new E0 stepping and therefore clock better

he speaks of truth but for me it a bit to steep u always could wait a bit till it goes down price or just buy q9450 or q6600 and overclocked it and wait for nehalm

I was going to pre-order the intel q9650 but i noticed that on this screen it states the clock speed at 3.0ghz:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/search_results.php?sortby=priceDesc&groupid=701&search=intel+q9650

But when i went into the product description it lists the clock speeds at 2.83ghz:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-231-IN

Is this just a simple error by overclockers ? or does it actuall run at 2.83ghz as i want a 3.0ghz without having to overclock.

Typo, its 9x Multi and is a 1333FSB (333) CPU so 3GHZ.

Does anyone know if the new stock of 9550's coming in are likely to have the EO stepping?

Yeah new stock should be, so you'll have to go it a while until old stock is cleared to have a good chance of getting one, otherwise OcUK might sell the E0 steppings and highlight that as they did with the Q6600.
