Intel Q9650 Or i7 920? Help!

Hey all,

Im trying to make a decission as to what CPU i should buy, I have roughly £200 and need a new mobo and cpu and ram if the mobo is DDR3 (i have some ddr2 already) and i've been looking on the MM and found both a q9650 and a P5Q deluxe for £180 or a i7 920 with an Asus P6T Intel X58 and Corsair XMS3 6GB for £155 and am not sure as to which system i should buy?

which system is better performing? the i7 920 or the Q9650?

Definately the i7, I've owned both and still love the i7, especially worth it if it's cheaper.

+1 for the i7. £155.00 is a bargain for an i7 setup, just recently i picked up a 930, 6gb xms3 and a p6 x58de for £200.00, a bargain compared to what the cpu, board and ram in my sig cost a few years ago, (£580.00). The i7 should hit 4ghz no probs with a good cooler.
