Help Me Choose The Correct CPU

Intel® Core™2 Duo E8600 (3.33GHz, 1333MHz, 6MB cache)

Looking to buy this cpu for my system , will be using for Photoshop CS & Microsoft 2010

Thinking upgrading to desktop , at mo i have T7500 @ 2.20GHz Core 2 Duo

Do not buy them new as the prices are ridiculous now for a dead socket. Try and find a G0 stepping Q6600 for £75-85 instead. If building a new desktop rig don't even consider 775. You should be looking at a Core i5/i7, Sandybridge or AMD AM3 rig.

If youre building a new desktop, its best not to buy old tech, theres 2 generations of CPUs newer than socket 775 now, if you want to stick to Intel then get the new SB stuff, AMD are a good alternative and can be had much cheaper
