i'm just saying desktops easily have 4 cores run at 3+Ghz that was in like 2008/2009. Laptops still struggle to get 3Ghz 4 core cpu
Try having a think about a few things:
Heat dissipation/thermal envelope/space for heatsink
Battery life
Longevity of components
How often do you need the performance of all 4 cores at full tilt on a laptop?
...never?
When your playing a demanding game such as Crysis or Bad Company 2.

Neither of which will max out 4 cores.
Buy a desktop?
Never seen the point of "gaming" laptops.
When your playing a demanding game such as Crysis or Bad Company 2.
acually bad company 2 uses up to 6 cores and crysis will defentivly benefit from a powerful quad.
plus i agree that gaming laptops are largely irrelevent but for the person who has to move about or just want something he move about the house then a powerful laptop can be quite useful
who would play those games on a laptop anyway? Gaming is possible yes but laptops are generally for non gaming stuff... Internet etc...
Desktop PC's are still the way forward for gaming
...but I digress![]()
