Intel Rapid Storage Manager Question

Do I need to install this if I'm not going to be using RAID? I boot from an SSD and also have an Icybox caddy installed which I use for swapping bare drives. I already have AHCI set up in the BIOS.

You need to install it I think to enable write back caching for your drives which gives a decent speed boost.

Thanks, I thought I needed it. Just wanted to make sure before installing it on my new SB build.

I only seem to be able to have an option to enable the cache on arrays rather spare disks on mine. I think it does include an updated driver so its probally worth installing anyhow.
