Hi guys,

new to the forum

I'm trying to build a nas/server all in one but there aren't any itx motherboard that supports ECC memory and VT-D

I will be installing vmware Esxi on it

cpu: intel xeon e1260l
motherboard: s1200kp
ram 16 GB ECC memory

S1200kp doesn't have VT-D but i have seen people like rimblock and others install esxi 5 on it

how did it work out

if Rimblock can help it would be great, I can't PM user it seems :/

thanks

Hmm, the S1200KP does not have VT-d ?. The C206 certainly supports it. Is there a link you could provide please.

VT-X (virtulization) is supported as I have built a client machine using it and the client has not come back to complain.

Note, VT-d is not supported on Intel LGA1155 Pentium or i3 processors. You need an i5, i7 or E3 (non K-series) to get it. For the S1200KP this means you need to check out VT-d with an E3. Whilst I have a couple of E3s at home, I do not have any S1200KP boards knocking around although I am tempted to go get one.

bump and also another question

for the intel DQ67EP does it work with IBM M1015 (flash IT mode)

thanks

I see no reason as to why it would not work. I have a M1015 in my DH67CF board and the DQ67EP board I use for my ESXi 5 server with VT-d passthrough for my dual port network card.
