It's worth noting that it looks like those low minimum framerate measurements are from the very beginning of the benchmark, not dips during extended load.
 
More testing is needed, but the branch prediction changes from this update are supposed to be the patch that will affect skylake+ parts the most.

Epic games are showing a severe hit to processor utilisation. For the same number of players they are showing a near doubling of CPU load for their fortnite servers.

haha, SO buying Ryzen was a good idea after all :D

Seriously though I don't think this will have any effect on gaming performance at all. Most home users won't notice any difference in their day to day activities. I guess maybe they might notice a slight slowdown when accessing their banking online or looking at cat videos on facebook as a North Korean hacker slowly steals all their personal information. But, as long as gaming is ok, who cares? right? :p
 
I really want to see whether there is any different between dual channel and quad channel memory architectures in terms of the impact.
