Intel Sunny Cove(Ice Lake and Comet Lake) examined in more detail

A great write-up by Anandtech on the new Intel core design being launched with Sunny Cove in laptops:

It looks like the next generation 10000 series Intel mobile CPUs will be a mixture of 4C 10NM Sunny Cove based Ice Lake CPUs, and 6C/8C 14NM Skylake based Comet Lake CPUs.

They used 3733MHZ DDR4 and the Coffee Lake systems used 3200MHZ DDR4,but it is unclear if the RAM was run at that speed or 2133MHZ.

This is for a 4C/8T model - it appears anything over 6C for mobile is still based on Coffee Lake.

Its lucky for AMD Intel is still stuck at 14NM for desktop,and Ice Lake is still only a 4C/8T CPU.

Well they may be stuck at 4c for 10nm, but st least they got their 20% ipc boost

It gives an indication of what intel might have at the end of next year or early 2021 on desktop.

AMD needs to make sure they keep up the improvements with their CPUs.
