Intel to face massive EU censure (Inq report)

same as microsoft nearly always in EU court & nothing much changes, all it will be is a fine & to allow competition mainly AMD into some of their market share

I'm in two minds about this.

If Intel have done wrong, then they deserve to get the book thrown at them.

On the other hand, I really hate the EU. They're nothing but a load of snooty, money-grabbing ****heads. The sooner we leave it the better really.

Wow Angry... still sore over Bosman perhaps?

Yeah the EU courts seem a little stuck up at times, but if you look deep at their decisions they have merit. They rewards seem insane but that because they take a hard line on corporate corruption... like everywhere else should but doesn't. Defrauded somone of 2 million ?, pay it back with interest. Shoplifted?, 6 months in jail.

Course have they may not have done anything wrong here. But it was very suspicious that during the hayday of the Athlon 64 no one was shipping AMD pc's en masse... not even Dell.

Not at all - they are just a useless bunch of muppets. Oh, and who or what Is Bosman? :/

And the only reason they ever get their backsides in gear and do anything is because there's money at the end of it for them. They had a good go at Microsoft, now they've turned their sights on Intel.

MAybe Intel did everything the EU accuses them of and maybe poor little AMD were unfairly attacked but i can't help feeling what this comes down to is Intel is to be hammered because they were better at business then AMD. Also AMD were throwing free cpu's ariund to a lot of people at the time so surely we the customer were done by AMD as the price we paid had to be higher to pay for all the freebies AMD were giving out trying to grab market share. Swings and roundabouts and at the end of the day despite all this it will still be us the customer that gets shafted.
