More info from Fudzilla,
Core 2 duo E8600 will be Intel's first chip to work over 3.2GHz, at least from Core 2 generation. The new chip is base on Wolfdale 45nm dual core and it will work at 3.33GHz. The chip comes with 6MB of total memory.

Something that will cheer up our own motherboard guru Eliot is that the chips TDP is at 65W which promises a great overclocker. You have to admit that 65W at 3.33GHz sounds good.

This is a product that will simply give some more advantage as AMD is getting close with its Tri and Dual cores that are expected in early Q2. This is one of the “we can do it” chips and we all know how good the 65nm parts overclock and that 45nm will definitely be even better

Stock issues for 45nm,

Despite the fact that Intel is happily shipping the highest end Yorkfield 45nm based Core 2 Extreme 9650 for some time, you won't see many other 45nm desktop parts in Q1. According to Intel documents seen by Fudzilla only two percent of total shipment of total consumer CPU shipment will be Intel Core 2 Quad 45nm based.

Another three percent will be the market share of 45nm based Core 2 Duo 45nm processors. Core 2 Duo 65nm based dual cores should take 42 percent of total market while quad core 65 nm are five percent of total consumer CPU production.

E2000 series of Dual cores are 29 percent of total shipments in Q1 while Celeron 400 series are 14 percent of total consumer CPU shipment in Q1 2008. Smaller than you expected isn’t it.
