This is great news. I think the Black Edition 'brand' has done wonders for AMD's reputation in the eyes of the enthusiast. I would be tempted to hold-off on my imminent Phenom II 555BE purchase now for a couple of months...

My guess is that they'll be relatively low-mid end i3/i5 so they don't cannabalise the top end of their market.

Why not for the 1366 socket? Surely lots of their overclockers use this socket in preference to the 1156.

Thing is, unless you're using phase change or better, it's not really going to get you a higher clock rate.
