Game over for AMD?

Be hard to compete with future Intel CPU's with 3D cache (coming from Nova Lake onwards) and Nvidia RTX iGPU on CPU package, coupled with Nvidia's software stack.

Wow! This is a big move. I still think AMD is going to be ahead for CPU but the competition is great

Nvidia's software stack and mindshare is just too strong for AMD to compete with this.

Intel CPU with X3D cache, gsync, DLSS in one device is just unbeatable. Laptops will be game over, likely desktops too.

Crazy how Intel has held on for so long while being the clearly inferior product across Desktop, Mobile and Server applications. This partnership sounds good on paper but completely depends on the working relationship.

AMD have made impressive progress on both Intel and Nvidia, especially against Intel. They'll still have the advantage of having the entire stack under one roof, similar to Apple.

Aren't Nvidia working on their own CPU anyway?

Good to have you back, Dave :D

So what's going to happen with Arc then? It still feels like early days for it and does have potential to properly compete, but if they're going to use Nvidia GPU chiplets it feels like the death of it.

They don't have a x86 license, so their designs have been mainly ARM. They have been working with MediaTek to produce ARM SoCs for Windows, but I guess working with Intel allows them easy access to x86.

I guess Nvidia's investment also helps Intel's fabs as well, could help with the tariff stuff in the future.

fantastic news, was looking at the ryzen ai 395 for a mini pc that can game a bit but will no deffo be holding off and see whats comes from this partnership.
hopefully get some very good handhelds now too

Thats only for APU's though isnt it? When it comes to pure CPU to CPU comparison, AMD will still be ahead of Intel

Game over for AMD?
Why do you want it to be game over for AMD?

The last time AMD didn't do so well we basically had quad cores for a decade and Intel locking out overclocking for most chips.

Also this pretty much ends Arc too,so even less competition in the dGPU market.
