Intel to Release Core i7 990X Extreme Edition Six-Core Processor in Q4 2010

I'm hoping the 970 won't be any later than August (Mafia 2!!). Will be upgrading from Q6600, so don't really wanna go quad->quad and it seems stupid to pay £800 for a current extreme edition 6 core. The 970 should be just about perfect price wise hopefully, I've seen $562 on the cards, so maybe £390/400 which is much more realistic pricing :D

Aye, I'm not upgrading until a 8-12 core amd chip is out that's cheeeaaap :) audio programs love multicores, exciting times next year :)

From what I have seen Intel have Choosen price the 970 very close to
980, (unfortunately), the roumor say a span on less than £100,. and it
seems to be confirmed here, 970 starting out at £737:

I would go for a Xeon 5xxx version I guess, then later I could add another 5xxx, and
gather them on the new EVGA SR-2 monster, the old x58 board would still be usefull
with some cheap cpu by then, as an office machine :-)
