Have just bought a Corsair P256 SSD, which sounds like a 256 gb version of this

Is there any advantage to getting one of these if you have an ssd?

This part intrigued me.

Enhanced data loss protection using RAID 1, 5 and 10

I have also ordered a Perc 5i card, and will be raid 5ing 5 1TB hard disks. So I am also wondering if this offers any benefit for that?

Had a look on google, and it seems that early 2006 versions of this weren't very popular.

Not sure if its improved since then though?

This article refers to a 'new' turboboost function in Vista (this is in 2008). So wonder if there was any better implementation of this in windows 7?
