Intel vs AMD / Nvidia vs ATI

So whos winning the fight these days? I'm still looking (as some of you might have read previously) at getting a new machine, but I'm just looking at the best but also cheapest way to play new games.

Back in the day I remember AMD spat all over Intel, but is it still the same situation? Also is Nvidia vs ATI just a personal choice type of thing?

depends wht price your looking at.

for low prices, its AMD all the way, but get the price up to even the most basic snadybridge CPU, and it will flatten anything made by AMD (the i3 2100 beats the phenom II X4 955 despite having two less cored)

graphics cards it really depends on the budget, generally its Nvidia for low resolutions, and ati for high resolutions.

if anyone sees any mistakes here, feel free to correct them
 
Intel are the dominate CPU manufacturer at the moment, and I believe will continue to do so even when AMD bulldozer is released.

As for Nvidia/ATI, it depends on the game played as they both have titles that perform better on one over the other, Nvidia do have the faster GPU's on the market.
