Intel vs AMD?

I'm not trying to start a war but I'm on the verge of potentially building a new system. I know we don't know the full spec of Zen 3 of the 11th Gen Intel so I guess we can only base things around what we do know. I've had AMD once many years ago and didn't like it, the Intel counter part at the time performed so much better and since then I've always been Intel but things change and products get better.

Ignore the PCIe4 thing for the moment but it's very hard to get a non bias view on something, I know AMD perform certain tasks better than intel and vice versa and some of the review sites seem to have a clear bias towards one or the other. Looking at the OcUK pre built machines and the most expensive AMD machine I believe (outside of the 15k one) is £2,300 and that doesn't even have the option of a 2080ti in it and the Intel one is considerably more, I know you can't answer for OcUK but why is this? Is it just Intel is that much more expensive?

I'm going to be buying a 3090, I don't really care for the AMD GPU offering but I need to start making an informed decision on which route to go.

Please keep this civil, I know you all rock but I'm genuinely curious and wondering if it's time to switch.

Thanks

No, either way it is time to wait.
Wait until new Ryzen arrives.
You'll be waiting for your 3090 anyway, and there is no reason you can't use it in your currently system then move to new Ryzen.
Unless you buy a Xeon w3175x and Radeon 7 and lc49g95tssuxe you will be dominated by a PlayStation 5 and lg48cx6lb.
Close the thread, and reopen it again in November, then you'll get some sensible answers with facts to back them up. :)
Thank you everyone! Based on the last post I think I'll do that, if I can figure out how :) Thank you all
