Hey guys and gals, I've got my daughters staying over now each week, which is nice for me and a massive milestone with my mental health,

I usually run my cat 8 ethernet from one room to another over the floor, but my x570 tomahawk has wifi 6 built-in, are there any optimal setting I should be using? Especially for gaming, If I can get along with wifi I'll probably just keep using it.

Thanks in advance.

I can't comment directly because I'm using a different setup and I'm just using 802.11n but can play all the games I play just fine, although I'm not doing anything competitive or in a massively built up area with lots of other wifi users.

All I've done is picked the best channel (some have auto options), set up QOS on the router so that my main pc has priority and games have a higher importance.

I haven't done anything major on the pc front, because I don't do anything else but game when I do, but you can also get some QOS software for the pc to, although can't comment on them. I did play around with power saving etc on the adapter so as it doesn't go into power saving but other than that can't think of much in all honesty.

Latency will be fine. You may want a better router if you want faster throughput.

Mine is paired with RT-AX88U and manages my 500mbit internet fine.

I moved my PC this week. Have the same motherboard. Can't notice the difference between WiFi and the previous powerline setup.

It'll depend on signal strength for you more than anything else.
