Intel X3100

Are these graphics chips anygood at all?

Im thinking of buying a inspiron 1525 fo a friend which includes the intel x3100....Do you think this chip will handle say the sims 2?

Thats the only game she plays and if it can handle that then i think ill have to get the 1525 as everything else seems pretty much perfect.

Any ideas guys?

Should handle The Sims 2 fine, it's reasonably capable for an integrated graphics chipset. There's also the Sims Stories games which run well on notebooks too.

My uncle is thinking of getting a inspiron 1525 so for surfing playing films and general computer stuff other than playing games the Intel X3100 will be fine then?

Absolutely. My XPS M1330 has the X3100 chipset and it's fine, handles Vista Aero perfectly. More than adequate for 'normal' usage.

Was it not Summer last year that Intel brought out the driver that brought some impressive speed-boosts with this chipset?
Their PR video showed it running Far Cry at playable frame-rates using a non-rubbish resolution.
