Intel X38 Chipset to replace 975X Chipset

Hmmm wait for this, or go P35.

Plus I was under the impression that nVidia were still refusing to give intel SLI for their new chipsets?

ya thats what i thought, come on x38 let see you, have anyone seen the asus ones, they looked a bit poor compare to the others MBs.

X38 will be pricey and PCI-E 2.0 cards will be backwards compatible with PCI-E 1.1 anyway. The only current advantage PCI-E 2.0 will hold is the lack of requirement for an extra power connector for some GPUs, but powerful cards will still need the extra connector. Go P35, no point waiting imo.

hmmmm

will i seee what you mean but if the next gen of gpus will be pci 2.0, like the 45nm and previous pcie it would be just of matter of time up be a forced upgrade.

this is just like the agp 2x , 4x and 8x and pro which never really took off, lets hope this is not another pro failure. :)

thanks

hi

tbh i much prefer the p35 range at the moment especially from asus, its this whole thing aboput pcie-2 thats a bit of concern. when are the ddr3 prices calms down and bit and going to see more range.

thanks

Definately holding off a full upgrade till the end of the year... my E6600/DS3 will do me fine till then thanks. Really looking forward to it too. :D
