Intel x58 DDR3 12gb help with bios settings

Ok here's my current PC Spec:

System Specification

- Power Supply: OCZ StealthXStream II 600w
- CPU: Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz
- Motherboard: Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard
- Cooler: Corsair H70 CPU Cooler
- RAM: Cosair 6GB DDR3 1600MHz Tri-Channel
- Hard Drive: 1TB HDD
- GTS 450 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
- Windows ultimate 64bit

I upgraded the ram 12gb (same brand and model as above) but I have noticed that I get the occasional glitch/lag sometimes when I'm just navigating the pc. I tried updating all the drivers for everything but still no luck, Ran memtest with no errors.

I've started to think its a bios issue, I have little to no experience with bios settings at its all pretty much set to auto in the bios, I dont really want to overclock or anything I just want basic settings for that spec. if anyone could help me I would really appreciate it

any idea of what the setting I shoud change, I can only see something about dram in the bios
