Today we find out that the first Bloomfield supporting mobo will be Intel X58(with ICH10/R) coming out Q4 this year. Because Bloomfield have already got memory controller integrated, so north bridge will be simplified. The biggest point of the board will be the odd lay out, dual channel, Triple channel DD3 supporting and Dual PCIe 2.0 X16 or Quad PCIe 2.0 X8.

The north bridge have couples of new features, but Intel keeps ICH10/R as its south bridge, so there is nothing more to say about it.

Shouldn't matter too much tbh.

45nm Native Quad Core Nehalem is released Q4 08 and will cost a small fortune for definite.

Then Q1 09 Native 8-core 32nm Nehalem is released, and will cost as much as a small car.

Plus, mainstream motherboards will not allow overclocking.

DDR3 RAM will still be expensive.

I'm not buying into it until end of next year at least.

meh, you gotta pay for expensive nehalm cpu and ddr3 ram when those boards are out!

I'm still hoping for P45 samples to be reviewed, wouldnt mind 1 of them! Hopefully they will allow higher FSB on 65nm quads and 45nm quads.

Random ramblings: Why two PCIE 1x slots? I've never understood boards that have more than one - surely an extra PCI slot would be more functional? Futureproofing is great and all, but it doesn't seem like the peripheral manufaturers are too keen on jumping to PCIE 1x.
